How God Uses Us – John 6:11

How God Uses Us - John 6:11

“And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.”

This story reveals one of Jesus’ greatest miracles. There were five thousand hungry men, as well as women and children. There was not enough food to feed them; only five loaves of bread and two small fish in the basket of a small boy. And yet, when Jesus got through, thousands of people were fed as much as they wanted, and twelve baskets of leftovers were picked up for a future meal.

Jesus wants to perform a miracle in your life. He wants to use you for His glory. When he fed the five thousand, he took the bread, He blessed it, He broke it and He used it.

When Jesus uses you, He takes you just as you are. He takes what you have to give, as little as that might be. Then He blesses you with His Word and breaks you. Just as the potter breaks the clay and forms it into shape, God has to break us and mold us into His image. Once He takes us, blesses us and breaks us, then God uses us. That’s when the miracle happens.

Jesus wants to use you for His glory. He wants to prove Himself to you. We do not pray, “Lord, use me”, for that is up to Him, not us. Rather we should pray, “Lord, make me usable.”
