The Truth about Jesus and Judgment: John 5:28-29

“Do not marvel at this: for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth-those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.”

In the 1992 movie A Few Good Men, Colonel Nathan Jessup (played by Jack Nicholson), screams “You can’t handle the truth!” when confronted on the witness stand. That line has become one of the most famous in motion picture history.

When it comes to life after death, many people can’t handle the truth. The truth is that all of us will die. All of us will face judgment before Jesus. We will either be resurrected to eternal life in heaven or we will be raised to face eternity in damnation. We have a choice to make.

According to Jesus, all the cemeteries will one day be empty. You and I will be faced with the Truth. Jesus is the truth. He died in order for you to live. He came in order for you to have eternal life in heaven. He did not come to send you to hell.

Have you committed your life to Jesus Christ? Are you ready to face Him in eternity?

In other words…Can you handle the truth?

What a great message! I am so glad that I have accepted Jesus Christ, as my Savior, my King and thank him for his grace and mercy. I thank GOD for the sufferings and the trials of this life, so that he can prepare me to be Christ-like for an eternity with him.
